D.S.S.M – Door, seat, steering, seat belt and mirror
Also known as “the cockpit check” – is a process for setting the car up to secure, comfortably and safely drive with proper visibility for your upcoming driving.
You should carry out this routine before before moving off the car.

The most often used rule for crossroads is that a car turning right must give way. This is of course unless signs or road markings tell you otherwise.
When turning right at a crossroad, by default, if there are no arrows you should normally assume traffic will pass nearside to nearside (left side of your car opposite left side of the other car.Typically, left side is where the passenger sits in the UK).. This is not the safest method because the other vehicle car block your view on oncoming traffic.
Also, a sign on the tarmac might require you to pass offside to offside (driver side of your car opposite driver side of the other car. Typically, right side is where the driver sits in the UK). This is the safest method, as nothing can block your view.

When emerging from a crossroads, oncoming traffic has priority of way over traffic that’s turning right regardless if oncoming traffic is turning left or going straight.
However, even if you don’t have priority, the other driver may want you to let you proceed before them in some situations, so try to watch carefully and work out what they are planning

5 Steps:
1. Position your car parallel to the car за которой ты будешь парковаться, switch to R, does 6 points check and start slowly moving backwards.
2. If a car parked in front (same direction as you) then – When back light of the parked car appears in rear window of my car do 1st turn left (in) and continue moving.
If a car parked in back (opposite direction to you) then – When your left side mirror gets parallel to middle pillar of the parked car do 1st turn left (in) and continue moving.
3. When rear door handle “touches” the kerb do 1st turn right. (Alternatively, if u turn on navigation monitor, rear blue line touches the kerb).
Another reference is: tarmac between kerb and your cars looks like a triangle in the mirror ( ideal for that top leftmost blindspot mirror) and in navigation monitor.
4. When kerb between rear and front door handles do 2nd turn right.
(Alternatively, on navigation monitor kerb is between middle blue line and red line.)

As a result, rear of the car will streighten and get parallel to the kerb.
6. Turn 2nd turn left and slightly adjust (move) car backward or forward to get appropriate distance to the car/s in front and behind yours.
p.s. If during maneouvre another car will be moving in the road just stop on any step you are and wait until that car passes you.
Comments Off on Parallel parking or (one-two-one steering)
Position your car exterior mirror inline with line on the tarmac – you will be parking the 3rd bay back of your car.
Moving car into the bay – First, in stationary mode turn the steering wheel full lock to the direction of your parking. Then check once again that it is safe to move, after that start moving very slowly, walking speed and continuosly look to the blind spots over your shoulder and check interior and exterior mirrors.
If there are already parked car stop moving once your exterior mirror inline with parked car exterior mirror, you are parked then. Also, check in left and right exterior mirrors that the tarmac line is parallel to your car.
Moving car out of the bay – signal left or right, move out straight first, once a car is out of the bay turn full lock the left or right.

Dictionary.
RPM – revolutions per minute, the number of rotations around a fixed axis in one minute. Car’s engine and computer’s hard-drive speed measured in RPMs.
Скорость вращения измеряется в оборотах в минуту
The general rule while driving use interior mirror.
Driver should be able to see everything needed through interior mirror.
Interior mirror gives a true picture.
Adjust the interior mirror when the car is stationary and you are seated in your normal driving position.
You should be able to frame the whole of the rear window in the interior mirror and be able to see the bottom part of rear window rather than upper part, cause the car behind is seen intiially in the bottom part of rear window.
Exterior mirrors are left mirror and right mirror.
Exterior mirrors made using curved glass, give a wider field of vision but judging the speed/position of traffic behind more difficult. Cars will appear smaller and further away than they actually are.
When turning left or right first check the interior mirror then left mirror if turing left, right mirror if turning right, then signal left if turning left and right if turning right.
When exit roundabout in any right exit (2nd, 3rd or more), before exiting from right lane to left lane, check interior mirror and left mirror, then signal left and change lane to the left, keep checking the left mirror while exiting the roundabout.
